Scott Pilgrim
Sunday, January 4, 2009 at 10:51PM "WHO THE HELL IS SCOTT PILGRIM AND WHY THE HELL SHOULD I CARE?
Scott Pilgrim is a 23-year-old guy living in the big city with his gay roommate, just trying to make his way in this crazy world.
Scott Pilgrim likes the new girl in town, Ramona Flowers, but to win her heart, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends. Wait, what?
Scott Pilgrim is named after a song by the late great 90's all-girl Canadian indie rock band, Plumtree.
Scott Pilgrim is a critically acclaimed, award-winning series of graphic novels by Canadian cartoonist Bryan Lee O'Malley. VOLUME 4 is new for 2007. There will be six volumes in all. They are published by Oni Press and released approximately once per year."
I just finished reading the first four trades of Scott Pilgrim by, Oni Press.
I have to admit, although I think my IQ may have dropped a few points, I kind of enjoyed the read. I'm not to sure what made me sit down and wade through all the trades...and part of me was embarrassed and a little nervous that someone might see me. However, halfway through the first trade I found myself not wanting to stop...I found myself wanting to call up friends and demand that they read this comic Immediately!!
Sure, its fluff, but by the gods its damn fun fluff!

Batman - R.I.P.
Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 1:33PM I have been saving this read for when it was completely finished so I could absorb it all in one go.
...I mean, it isn't often that Batman dies.
This was going to be big...it was Captain America dying big...maybe even bigger.
I was also pretty stoked because Grant Morrison is the writer for Batman right now. Yea, Grant frigging Morrison. My gods...I was excited! I had my blanket, some tasty beverage or other, an incredible comic book story to read and a very full pipe to smoke!! Could life possibly be any sweeter?
...
I'm not gonna lie. Way overrated series. WAY, WAY overrated.
It just didn't make any sense. I was expecting some confusion on my part with the little things as I don't normally follow any of the Batman books...but this? This was out there. Even after I had finished reading it I didn't really understand at all what I had just read. is he dead? Did he die? It sure didn't feel like it. It was cool and all to see Batman completely beaten down in every facet of his life. It was cool to see him go insane and not know left from right, and it was cool to see, as usual, that Batman is bad ass and ALWAYS ready for anything. However, I still wasn't satisfied. This was the big thing that was going to change Batman forever?
Nuh-uh!!
This was not Captain America dying big at all. this was just another marketing gimmick blowing something further out of proportion then it was to fluff up sales.
What a let down.
Batman, you my friend are a bitch.

Spider-Man Noir...
Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:01PM "With great power, there must also come great responsibility — and when those in power abuse it, it’s the people’s responsibility to remove them. The year is 1933, and New York City is not-so-secretly run by corrupt politicians, crooked cops, big businesses…and suave gangland bosses like New York’s worst, the Goblin. But when a fateful spider-bite gives the young rabble-rouser Peter Parker the power to fight the mobster who killed his Uncle Ben, will even that be enough? It’s a tangled web of Great Depression pulp, with familiar faces like you’ve never seen them before!"

...
It premiers this december.
Wolverine and the X-Men trailer released.
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 12:02AM It debuts on Nicktoons spring of 2009.
Black Hole.
Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:46PM I'm down with Fincher...he directed stuff like Alien, Fight Club, Se7en, and Zodiac. All good stuff. I have to confess though that although I know of this comic book, I have never read it myself.
The only reason I am even mentioning this is because the screenplay has been written by Neil Gaiman.
And Gaiman is god.
This is just a warm up.

Now Comics - Terminator.
Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 8:54PM
I can still remember the love I had for this series 20 years ago. Back then, for whatever reason, the comic had a special place in my heart. The color snapped off the pages, the stock of paper was thick and opulent, and the tale of John Conner fighting off these mean mother fucking machines in a war torn future captured my imagination like a freight train barreling down a mountain side.
I decided today that I was going to make it my mission to track down the original issues of these comics - the taste of nostalgia has tempted my senses to a point where I can no longer ignore it.

But all is not well on the slippery streets. 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: RED SNOW
Monday, April 23, 2007 at 1:27PM The series began as a mini written by Steve Niles and illustrated by Ben Templesmith in which Vampires feast on human blood in the arctic where the sun sets for 30 days at a time. Since its initial release there have been various off shoots...some good, and some not. Theres even a movie in the works to be released later this year.
Red Snow will be the first 30 Night story to be both written and penned by the almighty Templesmith, and that fact alone has me pretty damn excited. For a brief interview with Templesmith and some of his amazing interior art on Red Snow you can give a click HERE.
