NINJAS!!!
Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 9:31AM My love for all things Ninja is bubbling over in anticipation and glee. I want to throw a funny pair of toe boots on and go sneak down the hallway and assasinate an evil doer right this very second!
Not one...but TWO little Ninja tidbits for you! First up is an official poster for the Wachowski Brothers produced film, Ninja Assasin!
"Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them... and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.
In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive...and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan."

Second up is a trailer for a film simply called, Ninja! And from all appearances it is going to be pretty horrible. But hey - Its a freaking Ninja movie so who really cares?

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 7:52PM Has been released for the 360 on the Xbox Marketplace.
I have been so pumped for this game to hit Live, and not in any single way am i disappointed. The single player game remains intact and perfect - which really was what I had expected. My main concern was that the multiplayer was going to lag and be all sucky (like Street Fighter on Live). Ultimate Mortal Kombat used to kind of be my reason for existence years and years ago. Pop tarts, Pizza Pops, Pepsi, and UMK. That was all that I once upon a time consisted of.
So you can understand my apprehension, no?
Well, I'm happy to report that my dream have come true. UMK3 plays like a dream online. Sure there might occasionally be a jag here and there...but hell, what online game doesnt have a hic-up from time to time? For the most part though you can face off against...well, the entire world online, and once and for all see how you stack up with this classic retro masterpiece. I just wasted 4 hours playing this game and having a blast with 3 other dudes reminiscing back to when this game was brand new. We were all on the same footing as far as experience - and really its amazing that after this long when I began to play one of my old favorite characters just how quickly their moves came back to me.
Long live UMK3!

Shinobi: Heart Under Blade.
Monday, September 18, 2006 at 12:27AM
Wonderful cinematography...wire work was kept to a minimum which was nice as 90 percent of the epic Asian kung-fu genre as of late has been over saturated with its use. Overall the film was a good blend of drama, romance, and action.
Don't confuse this thinking that it is a translation of the Shinobi video game...but instead is the source material that the video game was based off of. Anyways...I really enjoyed it, and if you happen to stumble across it it is definitely worth the time to watch. Just keep your eyes peeled for the doppelganger ninja guy...he's way rad!
Check out the youtube trailer for it HERE. Its not subtitled though and no need to worry - the god awful song in the trailer isn't in the movie. *g*

Drain.
Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 12:43PM Image solicitations read:
"With a never-before-seen mix of history, mythology and the supernatural, writer C.B. Cebulski and acclaimed Japanese illustrator Sana Takeda bring you DRAIN, an exciting new series about ninjas, vampires and one woman's centuries-spanning quest for vengeance.
Debuting in November from Image Comics, Drain follows the story of Chinatsu, a woman whose life is irrevocably changed when her and her ancient clan of Japanese assassins is ravaged by vampires. Rather than take her life, Chinatsu was turned and left as a witness to the fate of her clan in order to spread the legend of the vampires in Japan.
Cebulski explains, "Chinatsu was left as the sole survivor in order to recount the horror she and her clan had suffered and spread fear across the land. She was to become an immortal example of the fate that would befall those who crossed the vampires. Instead, Chinatsu has made it her mission to make them regret their actions. She has chosen to stand up against the undead and use the powers and immortality she's gained to hunt down those who killed her family and clan... no matter how long it takes." Having been turned into a creature of the night, Chinatsu has dedicated herself to tracking down and destroying the vampire lord who ruined her life, a quest that will not only take her around the world but through time, too".
